Assistance is expensive

McKinnon 10/02/2009	My year 9 high functioning A.S. son attends a Zoned high achieving Secondary School who cannot help him with his individual learning strategies. This year I have had to find a private tutor at $95 Per 3/4 hour to help him with learning, planning and organizing. Is this his only means of achieving his full potential. Who discusses these sort of issues with Govt schools???Imagine If he went to a Private school and I still had to fork out money to help him with his learning. T.K ps forward to anyone who can help or has ideas please.
Cameron 12/02/2009	TK, it might be helpful to say what state you are in, as each state education department has its own processes for allocating support for children with disabilities or learning difficulties, and someone from your state may be able to help.
Ward 06/04/09	We are in Sydney and unless you refuse to speak English you get next to nothing in a public school.
