Sir Jim Rose visit, September 2009
Sir Jim Rose visited Australia in September 2009, at the invitation of LDA. During his time in Australia he visited Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney where he presented a series of papers and Seminars and attended meetings with key educational leaders. He also made a special presentation at the Joint LDA, SPELD Qld and RSTAQ Biennial Conference in Brisbane. A

In this Seminar, Sir Jim Rose provided an overview of the findings of his independent review of the teaching of early reading in the UK, and the implementation of his recommendations since they were incorporated into the UK National Curriculum in 2007. This seminar was attended by over 200 academics, teachers, and directors and practitioners in Early Years settings.
